Wednesday, June 20, 2007, 8 PM A Concert by Candlelight An outdoor concert on the lawns of the beautiful Billings Estate National Historic Site. Travel Back in Time to the Heyday of the Big Bands Authentic music and dance of the 1940s performed by the IJO's seventeen-piece repertory orchestra and dancers from the Swing Dynamite Dance Company. A programme of big band music like you've never heard before. Favourites and rarely performed gems from the books of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, and Artie Shaw. This unique programme will focus on three themes - dance music, music inspired by and written for World War II, and arrangements of works by classical composers.
